NATRC Region 3
North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC), Region 3, Inc.
To Whom It May Concern:
NATRC Region 3 is one of six regions that encompasses the North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC). Our organization is going on its 56th year in operation, and we have many new and long-time members that make up the organization.
Region 3 encompasses New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. This year, we have ten Region 3 rides planned with three rides being in or around San Juan County. Our first ride, Navajo Lake, will be hosted on May 12-13, at Navajo Lake state park. 2018 marks Navajo Lake’s 44th, consecutive running year and also the second longest running ride in NATRC.
Next ride will be Chicken Creek, hosted on July 21-22, in Mancos, CO. This ride is also our regional benefit ride and significantly helps our region financially with yearly expenses.
Last ride will be Chokecherry Canyon, hosted on September 22-23, in Farmington. This will be Chokecherry’s 40th anniversary.
The North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC) promotes horsemanship and horse care as they apply to the sport of distance riding by offering a variety of challenging and educational experiences designed to strengthen horse and rider partnerships. NATRC provides long distance competitive trail rides for riders of all equine breeds and from all disciplines. We promote safety, sportsmanship, education, and trail horse advocacy through qualified evaluation of horse and rider by veterinary and horsemanship judges, in a fun, responsible environment for the whole family.
Our Philosophies include:
To stimulate greater interest in breeding and use of good equines possessed of stamina and hardiness and qualified to make good mounts for trail use.
To demonstrate the value of type and soundness in the proper selection of equines for competitive trail riding.
To learn and demonstrate the proper methods of trailing and conditioning equines for competitive trail riding.
To encourage good horsemanship as related to trail riding.
To demonstrate the best methods of caring for equines during and after long rides without the use of artificial methods or stimulants.
We sincerely appreciate your consideration regarding monetary sponsorships and/or donations to our organization.
