The United States Air Force Academy is one of the top tourist attractions in the State of Colorado.  This ride will show you why—the scenery is great, the trails are well-groomed, and the wildlife is abundant and varied.  The ride is in its 34th year—don’t miss it!

DIRECTIONS: Take I-25 to exit 150 (Academy Blvd)  Go west to the South Gate of  the Air Force Academy.  Once on the Academy continue about 2 miles to Pine Dr. (on the left after the bridge) Drive 2.5 miles on Pine Dr., turn left on W. Monument Creek Rd., just past the Fire Station. Follow signs and ribbons to camp. Camp is on right side of road just past old house.  You will be directed to parking.

Camp facilities:  Level, spacious camp area with porta-potties and horse water ONLY.  Bring your own drinking water.  No open fires—no smoking on trails. Certified hay is not required.

Rules: This ride will be conducted under current NATRC rules.  Distance Only class will be offered. Colorado law required that out-of-state horses have current Coggins and health certificates.  Bring copies to secretary at check-in.

Schedule: Pre-ride vet check-in on Friday from 2 PM until dark.  Late vet check on Sat. am must be arranged with ride management in advance. Each evening riders will receive a trail briefing. Maps will be in your packets. Saturday and Sunday lunch will be in camp.

Meals: Lunch and dinner will be catered by Jim and Lin Ward and are included in the price of the entry fee.  Non-riders may purchase meals as a package for the weekend for $15.

Awards:  Ribbons 1-6 place in all divisions.  Ribbons plus prizes for O/N Sweepstakes and CP Combined High Point.  Breed awards as sponsored.

Entry Fees:  $115 all riders (includes dinner Fri-Sat, lunch Sat-Sun)  $10 discount if postmarked by April 10, 2010. Junior discounted entry fee $75 (must be NATRC member)
Parking fee $5/day ($15/weekend). $50 deposit required with entry.  Make checks to Cavalier TRC.  Part of the profit will go to Region III.
